About The Position

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services,(CMCS) . As a Supervisory IT Specialist, GS-2210-15, you will serve as the Deputy Director and will be responsible for the oversight and management of DSG's information technology (IT) product and service delivery. This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services,(CMCS) .   • In order to qualify for the GS-15 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Leading a set of teams to oversee Medicaid and CHIP data products and services; 2) Managing procurement, budget, and contract activities for a multi-million dollar enterprise of digital products and services; 3) Negotiating with internal and external stakeholders regarding complex and/or controversial program issues to facilitate the successful delivery of services; AND 4) Preparing written, technical, and non-technical documents and presentations of data analysis findings for diverse audiences, e.g., end users, financial staff, senior leadership, and other non-technical audiences.
  • Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current or former Federal employees and current or former Federal employees applying under the VEOA eligibility who hold or have held a permanent General Schedule position in the previous year must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.

Responsibilities

  • Direct multidisciplinary teams in digital product development, service design, and large-scale data analytics for Medicaid/CHIP. Oversees modern methodologies integration and enterprise analytics.
  • Supervise multi-disciplinary professionals (Health Insurance, IT, Policy Specialists), manages performance evaluations, hiring, training, disciplinary actions, ensures equal opportunity employment.
  • Serve as CMS liaison with professional groups, providers, consumers, advocacy groups, federal agencies, and industry on Medicaid/CHIP IT matters. Represents CMCS and develops collaborative relationships.
  • Act with full authority during Director's absence, leads DSG's IT portfolio focused on MACBIS program, coordinates strategic planning and cross-divisional priorities to align solutions with CMS objectives.
