The Supervisory Health System Specialist - C&P Manager at the Department of Veterans Affairs is responsible for assisting the Credentialing and Privileging Manager in overseeing the Credentialing and Privileging Program Office at a Veterans Affairs Medical Center. This role involves extensive support in managing program activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing technical and administrative supervision to staff. The incumbent will work collaboratively with leadership to implement best practices and improve workflow within the program.

  • Assist the Credentialing and Privileging Manager with oversight of healthcare providers' professional credentials.
  • Collaborate with local and VISN leadership to implement best practices and advise on program requirements.
  • Ensure quality assurance and provide oversight for the Credentialing and Privileging program.
  • Outline program goals and objectives, identify risks, and supervise office specialists.
  • Provide direct technical and administrative supervision to unit employees.
  • Identify resources necessary for the Credentialing and Privileging program.
  • Develop, modify, and interpret performance standards.
  • Provide advice and counsel to employees on work and administrative matters.
  • Identify developmental and training needs of employees.
  • Serve as the primary consultant for the Credentialing and Privileging program in the absence of the Manager.
  • Apply organizational strategies for continuous quality improvement in Credentialing and Privileging processes.
  • Implement mechanisms to monitor and evaluate compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assist with developing and recommending changes for workflow improvement.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must meet time-in-grade requirements for GS-11 position.
  • Specialized experience in healthcare administration or management is required.
  • Education must be accredited by a recognized body.
  • Knowledge of healthcare delivery systems and credentialing regulations is essential.
