About The Position

The Supervisory Forestry Technician (Handcrew) position at the Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, involves providing administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit. Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
• Must be registered for Selective Service if applicable.
• Subject to satisfactory background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
• Must successfully complete a one-year probationary period.
• Must pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• This is a drug testing designated position.
• Must pass the Work Capacity Test for certain positions.
• Must be under age 37 or meet specific age requirements for firefighter positions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in leading fire suppression under adverse conditions.
• Graduate level coursework in forestry, range management, or agriculture.
• Experience in developing fire/aviation training programs.
