About The Position

This position is located in the Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE), Utility Affordability Administration, Residential Services Division, (RSD). The mission of DOEE is to protect the environment, conserve natural resources, and improve the quality of life in the District of Columbia. As the nation's capital city, the District will become a model of environmental protection and sustainable environmental practices. In partnership with other District agencies, the federal government, business groups, non-profit organizations, and residents, the department will help instill environmental awareness through innovation and best practices. This position will work under the direction and supervision of the Associate Director for the Residential Services Division of the Utility Affordability Administration and will oversee and administer programs and activities related to energy efficiency programs to include Weatherization Assistance Programs (WAP) and Emergency Mechanical Services (EMS), and other programs as needed. Coordinate and consult with other department senior managers, related agencies of the District and federal governments, public and private organizations, community groups, and other stakeholders on division's programs to promote the production, use, and regulation of utility assistance programs.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and administer energy efficiency programs including Weatherization Assistance Programs (WAP) and Emergency Mechanical Services (EMS).
  • Coordinate and consult with senior managers and stakeholders on division's programs.
  • Provide clear directives on procedures and techniques for staff.
  • Supervise, guide, and direct subordinate staff in their daily assignments.
  • Plan work for subordinate staff and adjust short-term priorities as needed.
  • Set or negotiate deadlines and completion dates for projects.
  • Analyze organizational problems and recommend improvements for customer and employee satisfaction.
  • Initiate procedures to improve customer service.
  • Evaluate operational problems and develop solutions.
