About The Position
This position will serve as Section Chief for the Policy Implementation Branch's (PIB) Appeals Section. The mission is to oversee and manage the R2 Appeals workload. In this position, you will serve as a Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist (Recovery) in Region two, Recovery Division. Typical assignments include serving as the Appeals Section Chief supervising assigned staff and managing very complex projects, applicants, and programs. You will review FEMA's first appeal response to recipient and applicant appeals to ensure it complies with FEMA Public Assistance laws, regulations, and policies, work with appeal analysts to develop FEMA's first appeal response, and advise staff on policy issues.
