In this Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist (Mitigation) position, you will serve as a Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist in the Mitigation Division in FEMA Region 5. Typical assignments include overseeing the delivery of Mitigation programs and operations of declared disasters, including implementation of the 406 Mitigation program in coordination with the Public Assistance Branch. You will coordinate between regional mitigation leadership and field-based leadership and provide advice and recommendations for decision-making in disaster operations. Additionally, you will engage in supervisory oversight of staff, including setting priorities, assigning work, and evaluating performance. You will represent FEMA at public outreach events and meetings, and coordinate the development and implementation of the Mitigation Strategy, addressing open actions when operations return to the regional office.
