About The Position

The Supervisory Contract Specialist position at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing involves overseeing a team of contract specialists and managing various procurement projects. Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • Must have the ability to obtain/maintain an unlimited Department of the Treasury warrant, requiring an active FAC-C Professional (or equivalent) certification.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service, including leadership and direction to an acquisition workforce.
  • Completion of mandatory training for progression to GS-13 or higher level contracting positions, with at least 4 years of experience in contracting or related positions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in establishing priorities, timelines, and milestones for acquisition contracts.
  • Experience in advising program offices on procurement issues.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the operations of the Division, establishing priorities and schedules.
  • Allocate resources for completing work based on customer needs.
  • Monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of operations by reviewing activities and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop new acquisition plans, source selection plans, negotiation strategies, and contract terms.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to direct subordinates and supervisory contract specialist branch chiefs.
  • Establish performance standards and evaluate the performance of direct subordinate supervisors.
  • Serve as the approving official on evaluations and employee complaints as directed by the Office Chief.
  • Investigate and resolve group grievances and serious employee complaints.
