This position is a federal role that requires a strong background in engineering. Candidates must demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the specific position. Experience can include both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer service through National Service programs. Applicants must clearly identify their duties and responsibilities in previous positions, including the total number of hours worked per week. The basic requirements include a degree in engineering or a combination of education and experience that provides a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering. Additional qualifications include professional registration or licensure, successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering examination, or relevant academic courses. The minimum qualifications require one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the federal service or a combination of education and experience that meets the qualification requirements.
