About The Position

This position is a federal role that requires a strong background in engineering, specifically in civil or environmental health engineering. The candidate must demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties associated with the position. This includes both paid and unpaid experience, such as volunteer work through National Service programs. The role involves providing expert technical advice and guidance on operational issues related to community and individual water supply, wastewater, or solid waste facilities. Responsibilities include preparing design documents, construction drawings, technical specifications, procurement documents, and engineering reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent education and experience.
  • Professional registration or licensure as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or Professional Engineer (PE).
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of civil/environmental health and engineering principles and practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in interdisciplinary engineering positions.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineering (PE) license.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert technical advice and guidance to management and staff regarding operational issues of community and individual water supply, wastewater, or solid waste facilities.
  • Prepare design documents and construction drawings.
  • Develop technical specifications and procurement documents.
  • Prepare and review engineering reports and cost estimates for funded projects.
