About The Position

This position is a federal role that requires a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles, particularly in civil and environmental health engineering. Candidates must demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties associated with the position. The role involves providing technical advice regarding operational issues related to community and individual water supply, wastewater, or solid waste facilities. Responsibilities include preparing design documents, construction drawings, technical specifications, and procurement documents, as well as reviewing engineering reports and cost estimates for funded projects. Applicants must have a strong foundation in engineering sciences and techniques, with a focus on practical applications in the field.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent education and experience.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineering (PE) license issued by any U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in interdisciplinary engineering positions.
  • Professional registration or licensure as an Engineer Intern (EI) or Engineer in Training (EIT).
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination.
