About The Position

This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, San Diego Sector, Law Enforcement Operations Division. The job locations include Boulevard Station, Boulevard, CA and Chula Vista Station, San Ysidro, CA. The position is a Supervisory Border Patrol Agent (Patrol Agent in Charge) responsible for overseeing operations, managing assignments, and enforcing immigration laws. The role involves preventing illegal entry of noncitizens, apprehending smugglers, and managing resources effectively.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with Selective Service.
  • Primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years.
  • Must pass a background investigation and/or polygraph.
  • Must meet job-related medical and/or fitness standards.
  • Must be proficient in the Spanish language.
  • Must possess a valid, non-restricted driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in law enforcement or related fields.
  • Ability to make arrests and exercise sound judgment in the use of firearms.
  • Experience in managing law enforcement operations.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing operations and managing, directing and coordinating assignments consistent with mission and objectives.
  • Analyzing conditions within the area of responsibility or specialized assignment and deploying resources to mitigate any identified threats.
  • Detecting and preventing the entry of illegal aliens, narcotics, illicit contraband, terrorists, and weapons of terrorism from entering the United States.
  • Managing programs, resources, and monitoring personnel, financial, and material needs to ensure maximum cost-effectiveness in operations.
