About The Position

The Air Traffic Manager is responsible for overseeing all activities at a terminal or en route facility, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of aircraft. This role involves directing a highly technical workforce, managing operational and support personnel, and continuously reviewing work processes to meet agency missions and customer needs. The manager provides training, coaching, and guidance to subordinates while planning and prioritizing work assignments.

Requirements

  • Must have held an FAA 2152 FV-J/FG-14 or above position for at least 1 year.
  • Must have been facility rated or area certified for at least 1 year at an ATS facility.
  • Must have held a MSS position for at least 1 year in an ATS facility.

Responsibilities

  • Direct a highly technical workforce providing air traffic control services.
  • Continuously review work processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide training, coaching, and guidance to subordinates.
  • Plan and prioritize work to be accomplished by subordinates.
  • Evaluate work performance and ensure equity in performance standards.
  • Communicate and reinforce EEO policies and programs.
  • Meet with high-ranking military and civilian managers and industry representatives.
