About The Position

Tanner Clinic has an immediate opening for a full-time Medical Records Supervisor at our Kaysville Business Office. Essential Job Responsibilities: Managing, interviewing, hiring, directing activities, coaching, training, appraising performance, tracking attendance for payroll and disciplining Set goals and deadlines for the department Analyze internal processes and recommend and implement procedural or policy changes to improve operations Align the Medical Records and Transcription department with organizational strategies Demonstrate leadership and effective communications skills Manage monthly reports Manage the staff schedule Schedule and facilitate records reviews/audits Contract with medical records outsourcing services Trouble-shoot problems with digital recorders Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of medical records /transcription experience
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of medical records and transcription functions
  • Knowledge of managerial skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of individual job responsibilities
  • Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines with regard to medical records
  • Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve objectives
  • Skill in analyzing situations accurately and taking effective action
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, policy-making bodies, patients, third-party payers, and the public
  • Skill in organizing work, making assignments, and achieving goals and objectives
  • Skill in exercising judgment and discretion in developing, applying, interpreting, and coordinating departmental policies and procedures
  • Ability to provide strong leadership through coaching and mentoring with a focus on customer service
  • Ability to assume responsibility and exercise authority over assigned work functions

Nice To Haves

  • Certification from a medical transcriptionist program is preferred.
  • 2+ years of management experience preferred
