Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of food service experience in a full-service outlet or similar venue required.
  • Food and beverage supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with collective bargaining environments preferred.
  • Must have basic level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and various computer systems related to food and beverage operations.
  • Must have excellent customer service and organizational, training, and people skills.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Must possess knowledge of Iowa Department of Health laws and regulations, as well as liquor laws pertaining to distribution, security, handling, storage, and minors.
  • Must understand inventory procedures and inventory control.
  • Primarily indoor environment.
  • Long periods of standing and walking.
  • Lifting and moving of tables and chairs.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and push carts up to 150 pounds.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and varied hours required.

Nice To Haves

  • Food and beverage supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with collective bargaining environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily activities of assigned staff including training, coaching, and disciplining as needed.
  • Monitor quality of food and drink presentation and observe operations on the floor throughout service.
  • Help identify, evaluate, and develop strategies to increase revenue, control costs, and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with all cash handling procedures and monitor POS (point of sale) register receipts.
  • Handle guest complaints and requests in a respectful and timely manner.
