Job Responsibilities: POSITION OVERVIEW Supervises the activities of production staff including temporary assignments. Schedules staff, issues disciplinary action, if required, conducts performance appraisals and other employee relations matters. Reviews production levels to determine priority of production, to ensure productivity targets are achieved. Monitors actual performance against targets and initiates corrective action, to correct negative variances. Maintains safety, efficiency and quality standards on production lines.

  • Demonstrate leadership skills and abilities.
  • Good mechanical background.
  • Must understand the mechanics of paint line process (i.e. feet of line, number of drops, MIS function).
  • Must be able to work overtime at short or no notice.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with pervious supervisory experience a plus.
  • Complete Leadership Training

  • SPC Training

Responsibilities

  • Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Interprets specifications, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include training employees.
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding, housekeeping and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Have a Material Handler license in order to be able to help the team in emergencies or for coverage.
  • Communicate with team members to understand all operational and quality issues.
  • Ensure that all processes are running to standard, and when not, that the proper steps are being taken to verify part quality, including communication, via the white board.
  • Comply with and ensure all associates adhere to the shop floor operating procedures (i.e. work instructions, set-up procedures, quality bulletins, shop floor procedures, etc.).
  • Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained
  • Ensure that proper start-up, shutdown, and troubleshooting procedures are being followed.
  • Embrace and effectively manage the Magna Employee Charter.
  • Ensure that all production personnel in your area have read, understood and signed all required documentation. (i.e. Work Instructions, Checklists, etc.)
  • Ensure all operators are trained effectively on safety, manufacturing process, and quality checking aspects of their job.
  • Conduct weekly and/or daily shift meetings, as required.
  • Ensure that all quality standards are followed: interact with the QE’s as necessary, to understand the acceptable level of part quality.
  • Ensure the accuracy of production recording.
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state, local, customer and corporate requirements and regulations including; OSHA, DEQ, and ISO 14001.
  • Actively prevents pollution and reduce waste, support the attainment of the established goals.
  • Maintain an understanding and instruct employees on how their specific job can affect the environment or the health and safety of themselves or others.
  • Supervises employees within respective process area.
  • Conducting of layered audits, within their area, and the proper rotation of employees to prevent fatigue.
  • Train workers to perform work safely and to recognize potential and actual dangers in the work place.
  • Facilitate immediate corrective action for identified hazards for the protection of the worker.
  • Identify safety training needs of employees.
  • Support LexaMar’s safety objectives and encourage involvement of team members in JHSC.
  • Conduct investigations of all near misses, accidents, and injuries with 24 hrs.
  • Promote a safe and healthful work place.
  • Understands, supports, implements, and ensures compliance to all company and governmental agencies safety policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Ensures that every LexaMar team member has a safe work environment, free from recognized hazards, promotes and encourage safe work habits, and the immediate communication of unsafe conditions.
  • Attend all applicable safety training.
