Mechanical Supervisor Perform, instruct, direct, and supervise the Mechanical installations, Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning and subsequent maintenance, modification, repair and testing activities of all Mechanical equipment and processes as well as prescribe work plans, specifications, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States. Austin is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.
  • NCCER Boilermaker required
  • Minimum of Eight (8) years of cumulative experience.

Responsibilities

  • Compile and submit technical work and breakdown reports as needed; undertake quality audits of completed work and work in progress.
  • Prepare maintenance field instructions and procedures; and check that all relevant documents adequately describe the work to be carried out/performed.
  • Control and endorse work permits for scheduled work; assist in planning and coordinating mechanical work orders.
  • Lead and implement the safety and training programs to comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMP’s), Workplace Inspections, Task Observations and Training programs.
  • Ensure that all relevant HS&E documents are correctly recorded when received and that they are the latest version.
  • Direct emergency repairs to systems, equipment, and components.
  • Direct the replacement of worn, damaged, or failed equipment and components in support of facility operations.
  • Coordinate and assist during pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
  • Demonstrate and conduct any required inspection and testing of equipment and components as necessary to complete work packages and ensure systems are returned to proper operational conditions.
  • Ensure Mechanical Technicians follow predetermined checklist in performance of preventative maintenance of facility mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Direct mechanical trade functions towards the installation of new equipment or modification of existing systems in support of changes to plant system configuration.
  • Utilize designs and drawings to plan and layout installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and ensure applicable project specifications and industry standards are adequately satisfied.
  • Monitor or inspect all worksites daily, ensure safety and quality standards are consistently upheld in work practices, employee behaviors, and housekeeping by spending sufficient time in the field equipment specifications and compliance with operational safety standards.
  • Ensure that bolting procedures are followed and torguing requirements are met when applicable.
  • Responsible for ensuring that piping specs are followed in the installation of mechanical components, valving and gasketing.
  • Must be willing to respond to after hour calls from the site.
  • Willingness to come to the site in the event of an unplanned or emergent need.
  • Develop and maintain a callout list of certified technicians.
  • Other duties as assigned.
