About The Position

Only permanent employees in the civil service title, comparable title (under 6.1.9), eligible for the 55a program, and those that are reachable in the civil service list are eligible to apply. DCWP’s Licensing Division seeks a Supervisor to join the DOHMH Intake unit to process applications for DOHMH categories. The Supervisor will report to the Assistant Director of Intake. The prospective candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:

Requirements

  • A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
  • Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.

Responsibilities

  • Review and process applications in all DOHMH license applications and all relevant information
  • Mange the day to day operations of the unit
  • Supervise staff, including tracking and assigning tasks, to ensure productivity and effectiveness, conducting training and providing guidance
  • Develop, document and implement internal systems, policies, and procedures that help to organize and guide the division’s work and operations, document database issues, and improve overall performance
  • Perform ordinary mathematical computations while accepting and processing payments, completing close outs, and other tasks as assigned
  • Check records for accuracy of information and for conformity with established policy and procedures
  • Back up other supervisors and units as directed
  • Conduct complex system searches, reviewing documentation for accuracy, data entry and quality assurance for both their own work and over the work of the unit
  • Assessing staff performance accurately and providing feedback to motivate and/or improve performance levels
  • Assist applicants with outreach to other city agencies, as well as interagency communication to help resolve issues pertaining to their license
  • Answer telephone calls, emails and written correspondence and communicate applicant information
  • Attend seminars, meetings and/or trainings
  • Follow all division and agency policies and procedures
  • Perform all relevant and related Licensing tasks as assigned when needed
