About The Position

The Supervisor provides leadership and oversight for site-level outreach operations, ensuring ministry activities align with Lutheran Indian Ministries’ mission, theology, and strategic plan. This role is responsible for supervising Outreach Coordinators, supporting faith-based programming, cultivating community partnerships, and ensuring operational excellence at the site level. The Supervisor serves as a ministry leader, mentor, and collaborative partner to the Site Ministry Director, fostering a culture of accountability, outreach engagement, and spiritual growth within the site location.

Requirements

  • Passion for God’s Word and His people.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of ministerial teamwork or support experience, including at least two (2) years of team development, supervisory, or leadership experience.
  • Associate’s degree, two (2) years of higher education equivalent, professional certification, training, or directly related experience.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and building effective relationships with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proficiency with Office 365 and related computer programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain cooperative relationships with community organizations and partners.
  • Strong organizational and event planning skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Demonstrated expertise in utilizing social media tools and developing marketing outreach strategies.
  • Willingness to pursue continued professional and personal development through church or educational opportunities, including: Leadership development training programs Team cohesion and communication training LCMS-based Catechism training
  • Must meet LIM vehicle insurance requirements: Valid driver’s license Minimum age of 25 Three (3) or more years of driving experience No major moving violations No more than one minor violation within the past three (3) years

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and maintain partnership relationships with entities compatible with LIM’s mission, ministry, and strategic plan (e.g., local churches, Haskell Indian Nations University, and other community partners).
  • Serve as a representative of LIM in community and ministry settings.
  • Promote collaborative relationships that strengthen outreach and student engagement.
  • Plan, schedule, delegate, and mentor activities and events that support site ministry work and outreach needs.
  • Intentionally support, research, lead, delegate, coordinate, and supervise faith-based LCMS (Concordia) theology opportunities that bring the site community together in prayer and spiritual growth.
  • Actively lead outreach initiatives focused on student engagement and relationship-building.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across outreach plans, initiatives, and events.
  • Coordinate planning, setup, marketing, advertising, and development of lessons, handouts, or materials for outreach activities and events.
  • Mentor and develop Outreach Coordinators to strengthen ministry effectiveness.
  • Interview, hire, train, and mentor Outreach Coordinators in partnership with the Site Ministry Director.
  • Plan and delegate work assignments effectively.
  • Review weekly schedules, hours, and staffing needs; approve timecards; review leave requests (including leave without pay); and arrange coverage as needed.
  • Appraise performance, provide coaching and feedback, and address disciplinary matters in partnership with or under the direction of the Site Ministry Director.
  • Address complaints and resolve concerns professionally and constructively.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and mission-aligned team culture.
  • Assist the Haskell LIGHT Director, Director of Operations, and Executive Director with administrative duties as directed.
  • Support budget development and process improvement initiatives from conception to implementation.
  • Plan and purchase items for kitchen needs or recurring/site-specific events.
  • Track and report Food Bank usage and special event participation.
  • Maintain a strategic Food Bank replenishment plan.
  • Schedule Zoom or in-person meetings and support preparation of agendas, minutes, and briefings.
  • Coordinate shopping and supply needs as approved by the Site Ministry Director.
  • Preserve, monitor, and improve student/participant safety and building security at all times.
  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Builds and maintains strong collaborative relationships with community partners.
  • Understands, upholds, and demonstrates sensitivity to Lutheran theology and traditions.
  • Demonstrates a heart for outreach to Native people and the ability to work effectively in cross-cultural environments.
  • Strong analytical and detail-oriented skills with exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to gather, interpret, and analyze data, including statistical reporting as needed.
  • Self-motivated and able to multitask with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Adaptable and resilient, able to manage change while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and ability to support marketing and outreach strategies.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends based on ministry and event needs.
