About The Position

OVERALL FUNCTION: Responsible for the oversite of the assigned Mental Health and Drug/Alcohol program and the supervision of staff. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Coordinates and monitors the treatment activities and staff of the assigned outpatient program. Implements short and long-term program goals ensuring compliance to all government rules and regulations, and agency policies and procedures. Assigns, reviews and analyzes the clinical work of assigned staff related to therapy. Responsible for direct service delivery including performing assessments, clinical services and treatment planning. Provides staff training through individual conferences, staff meetings or side by side demonstration of techniques; monitors performance to ensure compliance and delivery of quality services. Responsible for the timely preparation and submission of all required program reports, records and documentation, in accordance with regulatory standards and program policy. Coordinates program outreach and public relations activities provides community education and technical assistance to other social service providers, as well as client family members. Provides supervisory back-up to agency on call staff. Participates in on-call rotation as scheduled. Serves as a member of various committees and work groups, as deemed appropriate, both internally and externally, for on-going program development. Adheres to all policies, laws, regulations and codes of ethics and confidentiality as outlined by federal and state laws, and agency policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology or related social services field with a clinical practicum.
  • Two years of experience in a health or human services related field which includes a minimum of one year working directly with the chemically dependent, and at least 2 years of supervisory experience; in accordance with Department of Human Services (DHS) and Department of Drug & Alcohol Program (DDAP) regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of governmental program regulations and policies, and other social services providers available to eligible clients.
  • Demonstrated ability or willingness to obtain the designated credential of Certified Addiction Counselor and other managed care related credentials.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal staff, providers, and other social service agencies.
  • Must successfully obtain Criminal History Clearance from the Pennsylvania State Police and Child Abuse Clearance from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and FBI Fingerprint Clearances.
  • Must not be excluded from participation in Medicare, Medicaid or any other federal health care programs.
  • Ability to transport oneself in an insured vehicle, as program needs dictate.
  • Ability to inspect and identify violations pertaining to program regulations.
  • Ability to observe and recognize verbal and non-verbal signs of physical or mental disorders.
