About The Position

Position Function: The Supervisor will lead the performance management cycle for direct care staff while ensuring consistent implementation of youth treatment plans and TBRI across all shifts. The Supervisor will oversee daily program operations, ensure quality care and safety for youth, and support the performance, development, and accountability of Youth Care Specialists and Lead YCS. They Supervisor provides hands-on leadership by responding to staffing and operational needs as they arise, including nights, weekends, holidays, and emergencies. The position should be on the floor observing, modeling, and coaching for least 75% of their shift.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in a human service field preferred.
  • One year of direct care experience.
  • Experience leading or managing a team.
  • Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license and be willing to transport clients.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of people management experience preferred.
  • One year experience in TBRI or other similar models of care preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, support and coach Youth Care Specialists and Leads during assignment shifts.
  • Schedule and ensure adequate staffing, maintaining required supervision ratios.
  • Provide on-the-spot coaching, address performance concerns, and escalate issues to the Program Manager as needed.
  • Conduct regular supervision, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Support onboarding and training of new direct care staff to ensure implementation of a consistent TBRI treatment model.
  • Identify trends in training and staff performance to make recommendations to Director.
  • Coordinate shift responsibilities and delegate tasks to meet program and youth needs.
  • Lead staff with empathy and accountability, balancing support, coaching, and clear expectations to promote performance, compliance, and professional growth.
  • Track and support program, team, and individual goals for all direct reports.
  • Participate in the interview and hiring process for YCS and Lead YCS.
  • Provide on-call or after-hours support in a rotating schedule.
  • Ensure daily schedule established with clinical team and routines are implemented, including therapeutic activities, hygiene, meals, school preparation, and bedtime.
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for all youth.
  • Ensure treatment plans and TBRI behavior support strategies are followed and integrated into daily care.
  • Provide guidance and backup for behavioral interventions using trauma-informed practices.
  • Respond to crises, support de-escalation, and coordinate post-incident debriefs with clinical staff and any staff involved in the incident as applicable.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule and report on-site or provide coverage as operational needs require, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency situations; role requires availability 24/7 to ensure continuity of care and safety.
  • Reinforce plan of service, treatment goals, and life-skills instruction consistent with individual client and program goals.
  • Accurately complete and maintain all required documentation, including shift notes, incident reports, communication logs, medication logs, and other program-required records.

  • Review staff documentation for accuracy, compliance, and quality; provide corrections or guidance as needed.
  • Facilitate shift transition meetings and ensure clear communication of updates to incoming staff and supervisors.
  • Review logs, incidents, and other documentation for patterns, compliance, and follow-up needs.
  • Ensure adherence to licensing standards, agency policies, and COA requirements during each shift
  • Conduct and document routine checks of the facility, vehicles, and youth living spaces to maintain safety, cleanliness, and good repair.
  • Administer or supervise the administration of medications according to agency protocols and maintain accurate medication logs.
  • Report safety concerns, incidents, or policy violations promptly to the appropriate leadership.
  • Lead team meetings, staff development opportunities, and supervision sessions.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, case managers, medical personnel, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity and quality of care.
  • Participate in all required and additional trainings, certifications, and professional development activities as assigned, including those mandated by regulatory, licensing, or organizational requirements.
