About The Position

Pivotal Health Solutions is seeking a Wood Shop Supervisor to join our team in Watertown, SD.  In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations within the wood fabrication area. This role provides direct supervision, training, workflow coordination, and performance support for the woodshop team while ensuring the safe, efficient, and high quality production of wood based products. The supervisor actively participates in production work as needed and ensures schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of previous woodshop/wood fabrication experience
  • Blueprint/drawing interpretation experience
  • Experience operating CNC machinery
  • High level of mechanical aptitude and experience operating power tools
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Must be a strong communicator, detail oriented, dependable, and work well in a team environment
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, reach high and low, work at a constant pace, and lift and carry up to 75 pounds
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Build defect-free products that meet Quality Standards
  • Build products within time standards

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, coach, and develop woodshop team members
  • Assign daily work, monitor productivity, and adjust staffing or workflow as needed
  • Provide ongoing feedback, support performance expectations, and escalate issues when appropriate
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee the production of wood lockers, athletic training equipment, and other wood based products
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and CNC equipment as needed to support production flow
  • Ensure team members follow established work instructions and assembly procedures
  • Monitor work to ensure products meet quality and time standards
  • Ensure products are built defect free and meet all company quality standards
  • Review and ensure completion of production and quality documentation
  • Identify production issues and collaborate with leadership to implement corrective actions
  • Enforce safety policies and ensure employees follow required safety procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area
  • Conduct safety checks and report hazards or equipment concerns
  • Oversee inventory replenishment through the Kanban system
  • Coordinate materials, supplies, and equipment availability to minimize downtime
  • Communicate production issues or delays to the appropriate partners
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform production tasks as needed to meet deadlines
  • Complete other duties as assigned
