About The Position

UPS, a Fortune Global 500 organization, is one of the world's largest providers of transportation and logistics services. Its Global Logistics and Distribution business unit offers comprehensive logistics services and warehousing solutions through a global network of distribution centers, innovative technology, and supply chain expertise. The Warehousing Supervisor operates a warehouse handling inbound and outbound freight shipments within short timeframes. This role supports business products by collaborating with vendors, customers, and internal support groups for international and domestic air and ocean shipments. The supervisor monitors and manages facility performance to ensure timely material processing and customer requirement fulfillment. Key responsibilities include overseeing daily facility activities such as loading/unloading containers, pulling orders, freight sorting, customer support, and facility inspections. The supervisor is also responsible for evaluating and correcting team performance, coordinating work for efficiency, and making key workforce decisions like hiring, onboarding, and developing employees. The operations are automated using technology including automation and robotics. Requirements

  • Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to self-relocate by yourself

Responsibilities

  • Operates a warehouse with inbound and outbound freight shipments that are processed within a short timeframe
  • Supports business products by collaborating with vendors, customers, and other internal support groups for the movement of international and domestic air and ocean shipments
  • Monitors and manages facility performance to ensure materials are processed in a timely manner and meet customers’ requirements
  • Responsible for daily facility activities related to loading and unloading containers, pulling orders, freight sorting, customer support, facility inspections, handling employee concerns, etc.
  • Overseeing, evaluating, and correcting the performance and outcomes of a team or multiple teams
  • Coordinates work across the organization to optimize efficiency
  • Makes key workforce decisions, such as hiring, onboarding, transferring, laying off, disciplining, assigning, directing, instructing, developing, and rewarding employees
  • Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors
