About The Position

Responsible for the organization, scheduling of staff, and directing of the warehouse and shipping day-to-day work plan. Coordinate and supervise the storage and movement of finished goods inventory and all packaging operations. Optimize morale & team effectiveness by embracing a “total” team concept encompassing packaging and warehousing. Implement best practices (both Oil-Dri and industry wide) as well as process improvements in packaging and warehouse. Adhering to all safety, regulatory and quality requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience with an ERP Manufacturing system.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a distribution or packaging environment.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.
  • Experience in bulk material handling and packaging processes.
  • Experience with counting inventory and maintaining accurate inventory documents.
  • Familiarity with MS Excel spreadsheets, word processing and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of an ERP and HRIS Timekeeper strongly preferred.
  • Able to analyze problems and present workable solutions.
  • Possess the ability to effectively communicate and lead.
  • Possess core values of Honesty and Integrity.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree in a logistics/operations-related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.
  • Working knowledge of an ERP and HRIS Timekeeper strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct supervision, training and scheduling of Warehouse and Shipping teammates in order to maintain productivity and efficiency.
  • Works cross departmentally to achieve plant goals and objectives.
  • Ensures that warehouse and shipping teammates are in compliance with Oil-Dri safety and housekeeping policy, and that all machinery and equipment is in compliance with MSHA safety standards.
  • Reports and investigates all safety incidents and develops corrective actions to eliminate future recurrences.
  • Handles performance management including performance evaluations on teammates and performs all other administrative functions of a plant supervisor.
  • Promotes and enforces compliance with company policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Understands quality standards
  • Takes corrective action to eliminate quality problems, such as excessive waste or re-work.
  • Verifies the availability (inventory) of materials, tools, and equipment to perform scheduled work.
  • Initiates and completes work orders and purchase requisitions (materials, supplies, tools, etc.) as required.
  • Gathers and analyzes data; makes and implements recommendations for improvements deemed necessary.
  • Plan warehouse space and utilization.
  • Review and verify transactions.
  • Coordinate shipments with Logistics, Customer Service and Scheduling.
  • Gather and analyze data; make and implement recommendations for process improvements.
  • Count and maintain accurate daily inventory records.
  • Conduct monthly cycle counts.
  • Coordinate all cycle count events with Inventory Control Analyst and plant teammates.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
