Location: Detroit, Michigan How will you make an impact: As a Warehouse Supervisor at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of our warehouse. Your leadership and organizational skills will help maintain the accuracy and efficiency of our inventory management, directly impacting our ability to deliver critical products to our customers. By overseeing the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, including managing raw materials for AO Peptone manufacturing, you will contribute to the timely distribution of essential supplies that support cancer research, environmental protection, and food safety. Your commitment to safety and quality will ensure that our operations run smoothly and safely, making a tangible difference in the lives of people around the world. You will lead a team of warehouse staff, ensuring productivity targets are met and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a warehouse supervisor or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficient in warehouse management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) as needed.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in various environmental conditions (e.g., heat, cold).
  • Ability to work with all levels of personnel.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the warehouse staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Oversee the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage raw materials for the biologic process for AO Peptone manufacturing.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and audits.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Implement and maintain warehouse best practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor and manage warehouse equipment and supplies, ensuring proper maintenance and availability.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, logistics, and customer service, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Prepare and maintain reports on warehouse operations, including inventory levels, productivity, and safety incidents.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to warehouse operations.
