The facility hours vary between 9a-9p seven days a week. Work hours are flexible but may vary. Job Summary Works collaboratively with the other Children's Urgent Care (CUC) Supervisor to supervise all Children's Urgent Care staff in the day-to-day operations of all Children's Urgent Care locations to ensure patients receive quality services in a timely manner. Has responsibility for CUC Staffing plans, Schedules, Quality Assurance, PPL, Attendance, Coaching and Development of staff. Work collaboratively with staff, peers, and department managers to achieve goals set forth by CUC Manager and Medical Director.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in nursing required
A license to practice professional nursing in the State of Wisconsin.
Ability to work flexible hours (evenings and weekends) to meet patient care needs.
Comprehensive knowledge of the principles of pediatric growth and development and child/family responses to fear, illness, injury and hospitalization.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary to effectively deal with intra and interdepartmental problems and communicate with other staff, physicians, health team members, visitors and consumers.
Requires good analytical skills necessary to prioritize work, problem solve and develop systems to improve accuracy and efficiency, assess complex patient conditions effectively and to develop comprehensive plans of care.
Synthesizes multiple sources of information to assist in the resolution of human responses to complex problems.
An understanding of CHW health care delivery system and the impact of other health care delivery systems on the patient and family.
The ability to represent the organization and serve consumers in a professional manner and promote a positive image of the organization and its services.
Must be able to walk, stand for long periods, over 80 percent, of the assigned work period.
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council required
License RN-Registered Nurse (30) - State of Wisconsin required

Nice To Haves

Minimum12 months of supervisory experience preferred, prior experience in a leadership role preferred
Specific skills, experience or accreditation in pediatric clinics preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervises day-to-day operations of all Children’s Urgent Care sites and works collaboratively with all staff to assure appropriate levels of care are being met and resources are allocated appropriately.
Troubleshoots potential problems, facilitates problem-solving efforts and intervenes appropriately.
Develops staffing schedules, assuring appropriate coverage, consistent with processes outlined by CUC scheduling policies and procedures. Ensures adequate staffing.
Monitors and approves PPL in accordance with CUC policy; assists with administration of corrective action.
Collaborates with Manager to provide staffing, recruitment, performance management, educational/personal staff development, training, orientation and competency verification.
Assists in the development/revision of procedures for inter/intra-departmental communication systems. Implements new procedures and advises staff as unique situations arise.
Participates in quality improvement activities.
Monitors patient and physician satisfaction with registration and patient flow through Urgent Care. Works in collaboration with CUC staff to evaluate and actively support the facilitation of patient flow.
Assists in the development, management and maintenance of the Patient Satisfaction Database.
Works to ensure the monitoring quality and integrity of data collected in the CUC department; monitors findings and assists in identifying individual areas for improvement based on data; makes recommendations for change as necessary and acts as a change agent for process improvement in coordination with the CUC Manager.
Provides monthly performance and quality improvement feedback to staff that will be utilized in the annual performance evaluations.
In coordination with the CUC Manager, orients new employees to the policies and procedures specific to the CUC Department.
Works collaboratively with Radiology, Laboratory and other departments to ensure efficient patient flow with accurate and thorough use of the order entry and charge capture system.
Provides resource support to staff related to department responsibilities and operations as well as nursing procedures.
