Department: This position supervises and coordinates the activities of the UM Box Office which sells and distributes non-athletic event tickets to the University community and the public. This individual manages the appropriate maintenance and distribution of budgets, records, and reports related to the assigned functions of the unit. The Supervisor frequently exercises discretion and independent judgment in a variety of areas. This position reports to the Director of the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts. Examples of Work Performed Supervises and participates in the selection, preparation, and storage of tickets. Prepares financial reports indicating tickets issued/sold, net proceeds, and similar data and authorizes distribution of such. Operates the University of Mississippi Box Offices for daytime, evening, and weekend performances. Supervises and trains staff and student employees to provide basic information services to the campus community including students, faculty, staff and visitors to campus. Audits student attendance as required. Documents records of patron donations pertinent to ticket sales for the Ford Center. Assists in marketing shows appearing in several venues on campus. Maintains equipment inventory. Provides University facility information to the public and University faculty, staff, and students. Supervises personnel functions including, but not restricted to, hiring, merit recommendations, scheduling, and vacation schedules. Ensures all tasks comply with The Ford Center and the University of Mississippi policies. Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required. Essential Functions The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following, Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring Department. 1. Supervises the preparation and distribution of non-athletic tickets. 2. Administers financial responsibilities regarding budget, reconciliation reports, income and distribution of funds related to ticket sales, and ticketing software contracts. 3. Supervises and guides support staff Job Summary: Supervises customer service staff and serves as a final point of escalation for customer inquiries. Assists with the development of customer services policies and procedures. Job Description: Serves as final escalation point for complex customer inquiries and service requests. Prepares and enforces customer service policies and procedures. Determines customer service personnel needs and the unit personnel resource allocation plan. Supervises, trains and tracks staff performance to metrics. Approves special prices, adjustments, and allowances.
