Position Purpose: Supervisor Trainee is responsible for learning each production department and all machinery. Learning of safety expectations and reporting. Learning of quality control processes and general plywood quality expectations. Learning basic maintenance needs of each machine center. Learn production paperwork. Learn basic HR functions of supervisor (Dayforce, BasicSafe,etc.).

Requirements

• Must have excellent hand eye coordination.
• Use vision/hearing continuously.
• Reading and speech required to communicate comprehension of Job Hazard Analysis, machine specific lockout procedures, monthly safety training, etc.
• Worker generally works alone with little supervision.
• Operators must be self-directed in identifying and efficiently completing each task.
• Ability to prioritize, organize and make necessary decisions.

Responsibilities

• Keep supervisor and millwrights informed about machine functions.
• Include other machine centers and QC on any issues that may concern them.
• Fill out action plans whenever there is a need for improvement or gap in production/safety/quality/cost.
• Perform quality checks throughout the shift.
• Keep accurate downtime and production records.
• The worker may be required to rotate to different positions for cross-training purposes or to facilitate production. Job duties for other positions are outlined in their individual Job Descriptions.
• Assist co-workers or maintenance personnel in basic maintenance and upkeep of machine.
• Other duties as assigned.
