About the position

The Supervisor, Transmission & Distribution (T&D) at UniSource Energy Electric is responsible for overseeing the construction department's operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and providing quality customer service. This role involves planning, organizing, and directing daily activities while managing a team of employees. The supervisor will also handle project flow, scheduling, and performance inspections, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the department.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct the overall operation of the construction department.
• Conduct pre-work inspections and organize crews and materials.
• Inspect completed work for quality assurance.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state mandated safety programs.
• Initiate project flow through the work order management system.
• Prepare work schedules for crews to optimize manpower and resources.
• Approve time sheets and maintain vacation schedules.
• Perform periodic on-the-job performance inspections of crew members.
• Complete and investigate employee accident reports and advise management.
• Rotate as On Call Supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Full knowledge of overhead and underground distribution construction and transmission construction.
• Basic PC skills.
• Ability to motivate and foster a team-building environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Completion of a four-year lineman apprenticeship or comparable experience.
• 10 years of experience in transmission, distribution, reconductoring, underground, and line maintenance.
• 5 years of experience as a crew foreman or similar role.
• Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
