About The Position

The Surgical Technologist Supervisor is a working leader in the Operating Room and Endoscopy Unit, providing direct clinical support while overseeing the daily operations, performance, and professional development of Surgical Technologists. This position ensures safe and efficient surgical care by maintaining sterile technique, regulatory standards, and organizational policies, while fostering a high-performing, engaged team. The Surgical Technologist Supervisor collaborates with Surgeons, Nursing Leadership, Anesthesia, and Sterile Processing to achieve optimal patient outcomes, efficient workflows, and consistent staff competency.

Requirements

  • Current Surgical Technologist Certification
  • 3–5 years experience as Surgical Technologist

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Surgical Technology or related field
  • Proven ability to support peers in complex procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example in performing scrub duties and supporting surgical procedures
  • Supervise Surgical Technologists and Unit Support Staff
  • Assign staff based on case and competency
  • Mentor staff and provide feedback
  • Participate in hiring and staff onboarding
  • Ensure certifications and continuing education
  • Complete staff evaluations and set goals
  • Address performance concerns with leadership
  • Promote accountability, respect, teamwork, and improvement
  • Variable call weekend rotation dependent on the number of surgical techs on staff
  • Coordinate daily staffing and schedules
  • Support efficient room turnover and workflow
  • Identify and address workflow improvements
  • Serve as liaison between teams
  • Assist with call coverage coordination and contingency planning
  • Monitor adherence to policies and quality initiatives
  • Support compliance with guidelines and infection prevention
  • Escalate safety concerns and assist with audits
  • Oversee proper use and care of instruments and equipment
  • Communicate supply issues and support solutions
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned in a professional and responsive manner
  • Demonstrate the ability to use relevant equipment
  • Support, understand, and promote Alomere Health’s mission, vision, values, policies and procedures
  • Ability to meet the work schedule requirements with flexibility dependent upon the needs of the department
