Here, you’ll be part of a team that values safety, integrity, performance, and collaboration.The Challenge AheadAs a Supervisor Surface Production, you will play a critical role in leading frontline operations as we operationalize our surface production team from a greenfield project environment through commissioning and into operational execution. You will supervise daily activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations while fostering strong engagement, discipline, and continuous improvement across your team.   This is a hands-on leadership role that requires visible field presence, sound risk-based decision-making, and the ability to respond effectively to operational challenges and emergency situations in a highly regulated environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience supervising operations in a fixed plant, mining, or heavy industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of operational risk management, process safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through dynamic operational conditions with a safety-first mindset.
  • Confidence using operational technologies and digital systems to interpret data and support decision-making.
  • Experience responding to incidents and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and people leadership skills that support team engagement and performance.
  • A valid Saskatchewan driver’s license (required).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise operational activities deliver continuous, safe, and productive operations.
  • Lead routine operational and safety activities, including pre-starts, inspections, toolbox talks, and shift handovers.
  • Provide visible field leadership, embedding BHP’s safety and field leadership frameworks into daily work.
  • Identify, assess, and manage operational and process safety risks using BHP’s risk management framework.
  • Respond to and manage hazards and emergency situations until formal relief is received.
  • Prioritise work, allocate resources effectively, and adjust plans in response to changing operational conditions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and operational performance.
  • Foster a risk-aware, inclusive, and engaged team culture focused on achieving 100% safety, 100% customer value, and 0% waste.
