About The Position

Sterile Processing Supervisor at Providence Mission-Laguna Beach Hospital in Laguna Beach, CA. This position is Full-Time and will work 8-hour Day shifts. Under general supervision, oversees the processing of surgical instrumentation and supplies from decontamination to sterilization and distribution for all departments in the hospital. Assigns duties and tasks to Sterile Processing/HLD personnel to assure all surgical trays are clean, complete, accurate and stored in designated areas. Refers performance issues to the SPD Manager in a timely manner. Maintains par level of instrumentation, equipment, and supplies. Works in collaboration with Clinical Nurse III's to assure that instrumentation for scheduled, urgent, and emergency procedures are available 24 hours per day. Is proficient in required competencies. Requirements

  • Coursework/Training: Graduation from academic or military program in Surgical Technology, Sterile Processing, or equivalent educ/experience
  • Upon hire: National Certified Ambulatory Surgery Sterile Processing Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, or Upon hire: National Certified Endoscope Reprocessor - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association, or Upon hire: National Flexible Endoscope Reprocessors - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, or Upon hire: National Certified Healthcare Leader - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association, or Upon hire: National Certified Instrument Specialist - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association, or Upon hire: National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association, or Upon hire: National Certified Surgical Instrument Specialist - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, or Upon hire: National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, or Upon hire: National Management in Sterile Processing - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution
  • 2 years experience in sterile processing and/or hospital setting.
  • 2 years High Level Disinfection: Experience in High-level Disinfection and/or Endoscopy setting or experience in Sterile Processing with responsibility in High-Level Disinfection.
  • 2 years leadership experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree in Applied Sciences.
  • Coursework/Training: Training in decontamination, processing, sterilization, quality control.
  • Upon hire: CHL Certification in Healthcare Leadership through IAHCSMM, or CSPM Certified Sterile Processing Management through CBSPD
