About The Position

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a part-time Supervisor for their BNC Starbucks Licensee Cafe. This role involves providing support to the management team, overseeing team members, and ensuring exceptional customer service in a fast-paced academic environment. The Supervisor will be responsible for coaching staff, maintaining cafe operations, and enhancing customer loyalty while preparing food and drinks.

Requirements

• Customer service experience in a retail or restaurant environment.
• Prior supervisor or manager experience.
• High-energy, friendly personality with strong communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic reading, writing, and accounting skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support the management team and act as a resource for all departments.
• Model exceptional customer service and drive sales.
• Coach and oversee daily work activities of team members in the Café.
• Maintain knowledge of café operations and assist in food and drink preparation.
• Assign work and provide direction to café team members for daily tasks.
• Resolve customer issues and complaints, escalating to management when necessary.
• Operate equipment, troubleshoot breakdowns, and maintain supplies.
• Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by following cleaning and sanitation standards.
• Replenish customer service stations and manage inventory supplies.
• Process sales transactions.
