The QA Incoming Inspections, Supervisor/Sr. Supervisor oversees the QA incoming inspection team and assures that incoming materials used for the manufacture of product meet necessary quality standards. Receives and inspects incoming components, raw materials, and labeling, and makes recommendations on final disposition of these components, raw materials, and incoming printed materials distributed with final product. Establishes and maintains standard operating procedures and records associated with the inspection of incoming materials. This position provides direction and support of the daily operations in the Quality Assurance Incoming Inspection Department through scheduling assignment of tasks among the QA Incoming Inspection team. The individual in the position will establish and maintain a program to ensure the appropriate training and documentation of training of QA Incoming Inspection team (including safety, cGMP, and job functions). The individual in this position will also be responsible for providing supervisor oversight for the QA Incoming Inspection team, including conducting performance evaluations of that staff.

  • Manage, organize and prioritize daily activities of the QA Incoming Inspection department.
  • Receive, inspect sample and recommend disposition of incoming raw material used for production.
  • Inspect and recommend disposition of incoming damaged materials or goods.
  • Identify, isolate, and control quarantined raw materials, damaged goods, and returned goods until final disposition has been determined.
  • Write and/or revise standard operating procedures for QA Incoming Inspection area.
  • Provide input for development of specifications of components, and review material specifications when revised.
  • Initiate/author protocols and acceptance reports related to incoming inspection duties.
  • Review completed inspection reports for verification of corrections and completion. Make disposition recommendation of completed inspection records.
  • Represent incoming inspection area during regulatory and vendor audits/tours of facility, and interact with auditors.
  • Perform multiple computer workstation tasks including managing SAP entries and multiple databases.
  • Supervise and assist QA Incoming Inspection team with resolution of issues and determine appropriate priority setting.
  • Complete Performance Reviews for each direct report including objective setting.
  • Associates of Arts degree required.
  • 5 years of related experience can be used in lieu of a degree.
  • 10 or more years of related experience desired.
  • Advanced vocational/specialized knowledge.
  • Microsoft Word and Excel required, PowerPoint desired.
  • Knowledge and interpretation of GMP's and quality systems.
  • Ability to identify deficiencies in documents and propose changes.
  • Ability to review deviation reports and initiate or facilitate a timely resolution.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and conflict management.
  • Effective communication in both written and verbal form with all levels of employees.
  • Bachelor's degree desired for Sr. Supervisor.
  • Lead or Supervisory experience desired for Sr. Supervisor.
