About The Position

Celestica Maple Grove (CMG) is the US Aerospace and Defense Central of Excellence for Celestica. We are experiencing rapid business growth. The Supervisor of SMT & Soldering is a newly created position, tasked with increasing quality and productivity in the assigned work cells. CMG is seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented Circuit Card Assembly Supervisor to lead our electronics manufacturing team. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Surface Mount Technology (SMT) lines and our hand soldering stations. Your goal is to ensure production targets are met with the highest quality standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence. The Supervisor will oversee approximately 30+ employees on first shift (6:30 am to 2:30 pm), is supported by two Operations Leads, and reports directly to the Site Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge in engineering, business, organization design, operational and quality processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge in appropriate industry standards such as ISO, TL, QS, Baldrige
  • Three to six years of relevant experience in manufacturing and/or engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safety-first culture, lead by example.
  • Align processes and practices with Celestica Values, corporate strategies and Celestica’s specific business assessment.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train a team of SMT and soldering operators.
  • Conduct performance reviews and manage cross-training initiatives to ensure a flexible workforce.
  • Workflow Management: Oversee the end-to-end assembly process, from SMT stencil printing and pick-and-place to reflow and final hand-soldering.
  • Scheduling: Coordinate daily production schedules to meet customer deadlines, adjusting staffing levels as needed to manage bottlenecks.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide troubleshooting support for SMT equipment (e.g., feeders, ovens, AOI) and ensure all hand-soldering meets IPC standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory standards and flow down.
  • Maintain a strict Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) controlled environment.
