Our Shipping Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily shipping operations within a corrugated converting box plant. This role includes managing the shipment of finished products, ensuring accuracy in orders, coordinating with transportation providers, and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards. The supervisor leads a team of shipping personnel, optimizes workflows, and ensures on-time delivery to customers.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of related job experience.
  • Strong leadership and team-management skills.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of shipping regulations and safety compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.
  • Strong planning and organization skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily shipment planning and execution across both corrugated/converting facilities.
  • Monitor and manage the status of outbound loads and coordinate internal Work In Progress (WIP) and Finished Goods (FG) transfers between all corrugated/converting sites.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to shipping loaders across the facility.
  • Conduct routine floor walks to inspect load quality and pallet integrity, ensuring all shipments meet company standards (e.g., stretch wrap, strapping, loading configuration, cleanliness).
  • Collaborate with the scheduler to ensure shipments to our customers on time.
  • Communicate daily with 3rd party logistics partner regarding trailer movements, load status, and delays.
  • Notify Customer Service and Sales promptly of any shipping delays or disruptions.
  • Manage/monitor equipment, labor and resources to ensure we are lean and cost effective.
  • Enforce safety policy/protocol and ensure a safe, clean, organized work environment.
  • Monitor trailer and dock safety, ensuring compliance with company safety standards and procedures.
  • Oversee monthly and year-end inventory processes, ensuring accurate reconciliation and reporting.
  • Provide back-up support for the Shipping Clerk as needed.
  • Conduct cycle counts and manage warehouse accounts finished goods inventory.
