About The Position

At FPP, we are seeking to find a driven and safety-first leader for a Shift Supervisor position! At an expert level, we are seeking a leader to oversee daily operations of our coal fired power plant. You will be trusted to: - Provide leadership and direction to staff. Hire, train, assign work, evaluate and manage performance, determine compensation of subordinate staff in compliance with policies and handles all aspects of staff supervision. Maintain awareness of department issues and responds to employee needs and concerns. Communicates with employees to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information. - Coordinate work activities with other power plant departments and serves as the primary contact with the LCRA/AE GenDesk regarding all unit generation capabilities and outages, and also with the SOCC regarding transmission switching needs. Ensure that management is informed on critical matters affecting power plant operations. - Implement and maintain policies, programs and procedures related to the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the power plant. Ensure safety and environmental policies, programs and procedures are implemented and followed. Assist in developing and maintaining policies and procedures for the facility. - Ensure safe, efficient and environmentally compliant operation of the plant’s generating units. Provide NERC compliance leadership. - Provide oversight and input to plant operations training, including development, design and delivery of operations training for the generating units in areas such as technical skills, system operations, water treatment and coal yard operations. Ensure the effective, efficient delivery of operations training including documentation process and procedures.

Requirements

  • Nine or more years of experience in power plant operations, maintenance, engineering, or other relevant experience.
  • A degree(s) in power generation, engineering, business, science, math or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
