About The Position

Job Summary 1. Meets with school Principals to address roofing issues such as leaks gutters, roof replacements and roof appearances. 2. Supervises and train assigned staff, conducts performance evaluations, makes employment and discipline recommendations, and coordinates work assignments. 3. Conduct school roofing insprections and provide feedback to schools. 4. Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates roofing replacement and maintenance. Work with roofing personnel, schools, and service providers. 5. Reviews and monitors work performed by contractors and meets with contractors to resolve problems. Advises the Contract Services Supervisor on service issues and events. 6. Prepares and reviews monthly mainteance and roofing reports to quantify and verify productivity and cost compliance. Evaluates program efficiency and effectiveness. 7. Prepares operating budgets, authorizes and monitors expenses, and prepares fianancial reports and summaries. 8. Prepares and assists in preparation of reports, studies, and contract documents. 9. Reviews and provides input on district desgn guidelines, drawings, and specifications. 10. Assists in the development, review, implementation, and interpretation of departmental policies. 11. Prepares school roofing mainteance schedule to include adverse weather plan. 12. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred in Building Construction, Management or related field, from an accredited college or university . Experience can be substituted for post-secondary education with a required high school diploma. Experience: Required: Four ( 4 ) years experience managing , planning and/or coordinatin g roofing repairs and replacements at a commercial level. Licensing/Certification/Registration: A valid Florida driver's license is required prior to appointment and must be maintained during employment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of basic facilities maintenance, repair, and construction principles, practices, methods, and procedures Knowledge of Uniform Building Code and State Requirements for Education Facilities (SREF) rules, regulations, and procedures Knowledge of roof types applications, materials, and commercial level industry standards application. Knowledge of management and administrative principles, methods, techniques, and practices Strong supervisory skills Strong word processing, spreadsheet, software skills Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills Strong organizational skills Ability to plan, organize, schedule, coordinate, and direct facility maintenance, repair, and construction Ability to interpret and apply state and local regulations and procedures Ability to represent the department and/or division with delegated authority in highly important matters Ability to train, manage, coordinate, and schedule activities of direct subordinates, maintenance personnel, professional staff, and school administrators Ability to influence, guide, and motivate others Ability to design workflow and procedures Ability to implement continuous improvement processes Ability to read and interpret blueprints and detailed drawings and field sketches. Ability to perform structural layouts and material take-offs Ability to meet project deadlines

Requirements
