Requirements

  • Possession of a valid state driver’s license required
  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus relevant technical coursework
  • At least 10 years of related job experience in the scenic, art, sign or construction fields
  • At least 2 years in a leadership role and experience in personnel management
  • Proficient understanding of a variety of substrates, paints, stains, laminates and adhesives
  • Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator & Adobe Photoshop
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or specification documents
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to climb a ladder and work at heights between 6 and 65 feet
  • Ability to stand, bend or kneel for long periods of time
  • Ability to bend, reach, twist and turn with complete flexibility
  • Ability to lift, push and pull 50 pounds
  • Comfortability working in theater and outdoor environments (dark/nighttime conditions, in/around water, in varying weather conditions)
  • Comfortability working around animals
  • Comfortability with exposure to noise and vibrations
  • Ability to train on and properly use protective gear
  • Comfortability working around fumes/dust/odor
  • Availability to work varying shifts or hours based on park hours; i.e. be able to work opening and closing shifts, as well as event rehearsal shifts

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with HP Latex Printers and Onyx software preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily activity, ensure compliance with project directions and respond to staff issues
  • Schedule assignments of projects
  • Develop, maintain, and track timelines for Theming projects
  • Supervise, evaluate and train staff
  • Obtain quotes from contractors and vendors and create RFQs
  • May act as a Project Manager/Art Director on long term / large scale projects as necessary
  • Coordinate delivery and inventory of Theming items in off-site storage areas
  • Work with outside creative teams on assigned projects
  • Provide art direction for the park when requested
  • Maintain project records, documentation and source materials
  • Assist Manager in various projects to improve theming items across all three Orlando parks
  • Work with Manager to develop, track and maintain expense and labor budgets annually
  • Evaluate maintenance needs of theming elements, signs, graphics, props, sculptures, flags, banners, murals and park visual décor on a weekly basis
  • Train new and existing personnel on safety, park infrastructure and departmental procedures
  • Coordinate material orders
  • Generate department schedules
  • Perform other duties as assigned
