About The Position

Position Summary: The Supervisor, Rehabilitation Services is responsible for the day-to-day operational oversight, clinical guidance, and direct supervision of staff within the assigned rehabilitation area, discipline, shift, or facility location. The incumbent is accountable for directing departmental workflow, ensuring staff clinical competency, and maintaining the highest standards of rehabilitative care quality, patient safety, and service excellence within the designated area of assignment. This role is responsible for the selection, orientation, and training of new staff, as well as the ongoing coaching, performance management, and professional development. The Supervisor defines performance expectations, evaluates staff performance, and initiates corrective action as warranted, in alignment with health system policies, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements. This position serves as a primary clinical and operational resource within the assigned rehabilitation area, providing expertise in discipline-specific practices, patient care protocols, workflow coordination, scheduling, and problem resolution. The Supervisor maintains accurate departmental records, ensures adequate staffing coverage across assigned shifts and locations, and promotes effective communication, a culture of continuous improvement, and employee engagement within the team. This position exercises independent judgment in managing the day-to-day operations, staffing, and delivery of rehabilitative services within the assigned area of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Physical Therapy, Occupational, or Speech Therapy, including 5 years of experience in a hospital setting
  • Licensure to practice as a Therapist or proof of eligibility from the respective California Board.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Current BLS certification
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
