How you’ll contribute A Supervisor, Respiratory who excels in this role: Provides direct supervision of assignments and workflow daily for the Respiratory Therapy Department Develops department work schedule and call schedule. Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.ag Assists in the implementation of new policies and keeps employees abreast of new developments. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Practitioner Program, associate degree in a Cardiopulmonary Science; preferred bachelor’s degree or the desire to obtain this degree.
  • Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT).
  • Licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • Certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, to include Advanced Life Support.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider.
  • Ten years of general cardio-pulmonary clinical experience. Three years of minimum supervisor or managerial experience.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Requires a full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual dexterity, and eye and hand coordination.
  • Requires standing, walking, stooping, and stretching. Occasionally lifts, carries, and pushes items weighing up to 100 lbs. (Mechanical ventilators, electrocardiographs, stretchers, and patient care carts).
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to the normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions, extended shifts.

  • Dual registries in the Cardiopulmonary specialty are preferred
