Supervisor Rehab Admissions, Cornell Inpatient Rehab, Bethesda East, FT, 8:30A-5P
About The Position
Oversees the daily operations of the admission department and is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of the admissions functions in accordance with departmental policies and federal regulations. Responsible to ensure delivery of high quality patient care with an appropriate length of stay and excellent resource utilization as well as timely and effective processing of admissions from receipt of referral through patient transfer to rehab. Serves as a resource to the department and to the Baptist Health North Region for utilization of IRF services through consultation and interdepartmental education. Coordinates marketing efforts to build referral base in coordination with unit leadership and medical staff.
Requirements
- Knowledge of reimbursement principles, discharge planning process, accreditation standards, infection control principles.
- Advanced written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Assertive and diplomatic communication, team building problem resolution, and negotiation skills.
- Must be able to deal sensitively with coworkers, medical staff and community representatives.
- Computer experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Excellent organizational skills including effective time management, collaboration, priority setting and process improvement.
- Demonstrates leadership ability, initiative, professionalism and integrity.
- Basic Life Support
- PT, OT, or, SA License
- Therapist with minimum of 1 year experience as a rehab clinical liaison and at least 3 years in a acute medical setting.
- Prior experience in rehab admissions required, preferably at the IRF level of care.
