About The Position

Provides the highest quality care to patients and colleagues along with producing high quality exams. Works closely with patients in addition to other care providers and medical staff, and mentors and supervises the staff who report to you. The Radiology Imaging Supervisor supervises and coordinates the activities of staff in a diagnostic imaging department such as scheduling, nuclear medicine, MRI, radiology, computed tomography (CT) or ultrasound. Monitors the adherence to all diagnostic imaging policies, procedures and services. Supervises clinical operations which may include direct responsibility for human resource management, fiscal and clinical operations, quality improvement and customer relations within the Imaging Department. Additional Information: Full Time Monday-Friday 36-40hous/week day shift variable

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma
  • Related Field - 4 years of experience
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification (ARRT) - American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT)
  • Radiologic Technologist License (RTL) - Arkansas Department of Health, RTL Required for Radiology and CT only - RTL Required for Radiology and CT only

Responsibilities

  • Assists in recruiting, interviews and hires. Provides coaching/counsels, trains and evaluates employees.
  • Utilizes technical expertise to aid in determining needs, allocates resources and resolves problems related to clinical staffing, space, equipment and supplies.
  • Supervises day-to-day patient flow for designated imaging modalities. Ensures efficient use of resources to optimize the use of scanners and for working requests into the outpatient schedule while helping ensure that the outpatient schedule runs on time. Responsible for the patient flow while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
  • Oversees routine equipment maintenance, quality assurance tests, and reports unscheduled down time to director.
  • Assists in departmental quality improvement activities; and helping ensure compliance with Arkansas State Department of Health, Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services rules and regulations and ACR.
  • Ensures correct patient, diagnosis and exam and demonstrating proper positioning and use of equipment. Addresses image quality issues.
  • Monitors the adherence to all diagnostic imaging policies, procedures, services and address image quality issues.
  • Adheres to all appropriate radiology standards of operation and patient care standards, including meeting efficiency and productivity standards, identifying issues in the system and working to improve these and offering insight to annual strategic plans.
  • Mentors radiology students by assigning and scheduling clinical rounds and trainings.
  • Ensures correct patient, diagnosis and exam and demonstrating proper positioning and use of imaging equipment.
  • Assists in preparation of budgetary and productivity reporting.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
