About The Position

Position Purpose Coordinates and supervises all technical aspects and functions of the department to ensure efficient, safe, and quality operations. Supervises daily routine operations, establishes and monitors standards of performance, staff and patient scheduling, purchasing medical supplies, providing input into staff evaluations, quality assurance initiatives, compliance with JCAHO standards, and provides technical support. The incumbent in this position actively participates in daily treatment of patients. The position involves leadership, problem solving, and decision-making responsibilities. Creates and prepares policies and procedures. What you will do Supervises, and coordinates delivery of patient care for radiation therapy department. Ensures compliance with clinical patient care standards and establishes policies and procedures. Plans, schedules, and organizes work for group ensuring proper distribution and delegation of assignments and efficient utilization of personnel, space, and facilities; overall accountability for the requisition, care, and maintenance of unit inventory, equipment, and supplies. Serves as a professional role model and mentor to staff by responding positively to change while supporting colleagues through the change process. Serves as a change agent to facilitate communication and transition that supports the mission of the organization. Actively supports and promotes a professional practice model that encourages staff participation in the development of clinical standards that is collaborative, collegial, and utilizes current trends and data in professional practice both clinical and administrative.

Requirements

  • Education: Graduate of an approved school or certificate program in Radiation Therapy Technology by the Committee on Allied Health Education; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in radiation therapy preferred.
  • Five (5) years experience as a Radiation Therapist required.
  • Licensure: Current licensure as required by state or national authority and/of certification or board eligible in Radiation Therapy by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
  • Maintain ARRT certification in radiation therapy with a minimum of documented 24 hours of continuing education.
