About The Position

Leads teams to ensure compliance with the California Public Utility Commission (CPUC) General Order (GO) 165. Ensures the electric transmission operations system facilities are in compliance with General Orders 95 and 128 through an efficient, compliant execution of GO165 inspections and patrols. This position offers a flexible work location in the southern service area, including the Bay Region, Central Valley Region or South Bay/Central Region. The position is hybrid, and includes supervising employees in the field. PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be between the minimum and midpoint listed below. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Requirements

  • High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
  • Job-related technical experience, 6 years
  • Must obtain a California Drivers' License by first day of employment

Responsibilities

  • Supervises a team in assigned geographic area to ensure the safe, efficient and timely completion of work.
  • Supervises staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management and rewards & recognition.
  • Implements work practices that support reduced operating cost.
  • Works with the Quality Assurance Department when conducting periodic reviews of facility conditions, in preparation for CPUC audits, and in preparing and closing review and audit findings.
  • Ensures the qualified customer representatives (QCR’s) who perform the facility condition assessments and subsequent maintenance are trained, knowledgeable and qualified to perform the assigned tasks.
  • Supports Electric Program Management in managing the implementation of all required practices.
  • Tracks and reports work progress to Program Manager(s) for maintenance and compliance with the requirements of General Order (GO) 165 standards.
  • Ensures work verifications and auditable documentation/records are complete, accurate, and compliant.
  • Manages capital & expense budget for patrols, inspections, and corrective work. This includes tracking unit cost, productivity, minor work, and fleet management. Ensures level of resources support the patrol and inspection workload for assigned area.
  • Reviews, approves and signs off on completed work documentation and overall work progress. Ensures communication of updated information from inspections to the Mapping department.
  • Supervise bargaining unit and non-bargaining unit employees.
  • Integrates GO 165 in the work/document verification process.
  • Interfaces with customers on sensitive issues surrounding inspections, such as gaining access to a customer’s property.
