Requirements The production supervisor is responsible for supervising production employees in a manufacturing environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.   • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of project management software and manufacturing software.

Responsibilities

  • Understanding of production schedules
  • Understand daily production requirements and effectively communicate to the direct reports.
  • Organize the workflow, set daily goals, and ensure team members understand the expectations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and injury-free work environment by ensuring health and safety procedures are understood and executed by all team members.
  • Lead and develop hourly team members.
  • Confirm all equipment is functioning properly and in a way Team Members can safely and efficiently operate it.
  • Conduct team member training on all equipment, protocols, production standards, safety regulations, on an ongoing basis.
  • Supervise efficient operation of equipment including the inspection of materials, products, and equipment to detect and/or prevent malfunctions; assist in troubleshooting any machine slowdowns or other problems.
  • Analyze machine performance, identify opportunities, make recommendations for process and equipment improvement establish goals, and execute strategy improve lean manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to demonstrate good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Coach and mentor in various ways to positively impact different styles of learners.
  • Be a servant-minded style leader by serving our Team Members and providing them with all the tools and coaching they need to safely and efficiently perform their job.
  • Directly supervises employees in the Production Department.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
