The position involves supervising food production employees to ensure adherence to production guidelines, quality standards, and safety protocols. The role requires training and leading the production team, maintaining communication of production goals, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. The supervisor will also be responsible for routine maintenance of equipment and facilities, as well as driving efficiency in production processes.

  • Supervises food production employees on assigned shifts to ensure production guidelines are met.
  • Trains, directs, coaches, and leads the production team in day-to-day operations.
  • Drives communication of production goals and objectives to motivate the team.
  • Performs daily walks and visual inspections of the production floor for safety compliance.
  • Maintains safety/environmental self-audits and champions safety activities.
  • Ensures all staff understand the Food Safety and Food Quality plans.
  • Adheres to product specification requirements throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Maintains knowledge of products and equipment to direct employees effectively.
  • Ensures compliance with HACCP and USDA regulations.
  • Holds monthly line meetings to address questions and concerns.
  • Maintains or exceeds goals on yields and efficiencies.
  • Works with the Operations Manager to maintain knowledge of yields and variances.
  • Suggests changes in workflow processes to increase efficiency.
  • Traces and analyzes key product result measures for improvement opportunities.
  • Plans daily production demands and assesses proposed needs.
  • Interacts daily with Operations and QA teams.
  • Completes tasks requested by Operations and QA in a timely manner.
  • Maintains open communication with operations regarding issues and expectations.
  • Oversees all production activities on the plant floor.
  • Understands and enforces all company policies and procedures.
  • Starts and shuts down equipment as needed.
  • Keeps production organized and efficient through communication and planning.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years supervisory or production environment experience; or completion of Americold's internship program; or a bachelor's degree.
  • Previous food processing experience preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing knowledge and understanding of yields and plant efficiencies preferred.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead problem solving and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Strong problem solving, math, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to motivate, train, and coach employees.
  • Good planning and priority setting skills.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
