Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred) OR equivalent work experience\ with a minimum of 5 years of experience or a minimum of 4 years of experience in a high-volume cell manufacturing facility.
  • OR associate degree in engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred) OR equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 9 years of experience or a minimum of 6 years of experience in a high-volume cell manufacturing facility
  • Proven experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, and quality control practices.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Proficient in analyzing data and utilizing relevant software tools for reporting and decision-making.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Solid understanding of safety protocols and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • This role will require long periods of standing in a laboratory environment.
  • The employee will be required to use his or her hands for lab instrument and equipment operation.
  • Must pass a respirator fitment test.
  • Required chem-/bio-safety training upon hiring.
  • Ability to lift, push, and/or move objects up to 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the daily manufacturing operations, motivating the team, ensuring production targets, delivering on production schedule, timelines, training & development, performance management, and quality standards are met.
  • Assign tasks, set priorities, and monitor workflow to ensure efficient utilization of resources.
  • Maintain production schedules, track progress, and make adjustments as necessary to meet customer demands and deadlines.
  • Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills as well as lean and continuous operations improvement.
  • Enforce adherence to quality control procedures, ensuring products meet defined specifications and standards.
  • Implement quality improvement initiatives, identify, and address any non-conformance issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to establish and maintain quality assurance protocols and practices.
  • Lead, motivate, and coach a team of manufacturing technicians and operators.
  • Provide clear expectations, performance feedback, and guidance to team members.
  • Identify training needs, conduct training sessions, and support the professional development of the production team.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, waste reduction, and cost savings.
  • Analyze production data and metrics to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and maintenance, to optimize production processes.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols, conducting safety training, and addressing any safety concerns promptly.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, such as OSHA, GMP, and ISO standards.
  • Participate in safety audits and investigations, implement corrective actions to prevent accidents or incidents.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration across departments, such as procurement, logistics, and quality assurance.
  • Liaise with other supervisors and managers to optimize resource allocation and resolve any interdepartmental issues.
  • Participate in production meetings, providing updates, reporting on key performance indicators, and contributing to decision-making.
