About The Position

The position involves supervising a team of over 20 direct reports in a production environment. The supervisor will be responsible for planning and scheduling personnel in collaboration with the Production Manager, which includes managing vacations, temporary workers, and overtime work. Daily responsibilities include providing production expectations and quality feedback during team meetings, monitoring production requirements to meet customer needs and plant objectives, and ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) and 5S policies. The supervisor will also train employees, monitor their performance, and ensure that the operator training matrix is updated to meet departmental targets. Additionally, the role requires compiling Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data, populating end-of-shift reports, and distributing them to management and relevant personnel. The supervisor will ensure job training and daily job rotations are enforced, monitor product quality throughout the production process, participate in Team Leader meetings, and identify continuous improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent education.
  • 3-5 years of experience in production, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience in the automotive industry.
  • Experience in a Just in Time (JIT) environment.
  • Willingness to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants.
  • Ability to climb, lift, or work in confined spaces as required.
  • Computer literacy is essential.
  • Excellent oral communication skills are required.
  • Strong team building, decision-making, and people management skills are necessary.
  • Proficient organizational skills are needed.
  • Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise over 20 personnel in a production environment.
  • Plan and schedule personnel in cooperation with the Production Manager.
  • Provide production expectations and quality feedback in daily meetings.
  • Monitor daily production requirements to meet customer and plant objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE and 5S policies and standards.
  • Train and monitor employee performance to ensure certification and training matrix compliance.
  • Compile KPI data and populate end-of-shift reports for distribution.
  • Enforce job training and daily job rotations.
  • Monitor product quality throughout the production process.
  • Participate in Team Leader meetings and quality initiatives.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
