About The Position

As a Supervisor, Processing Operations, you will directly contribute to LifeLink’s life-saving mission. Responsible for assigned production teams, cleanrooms, and the associated production output and quality. Daily tasks will include all responsibilities required of a processing technician along with accountability to the production plan. Responsibilities will also include direct supervision, leadership, training, and mentoring of assigned processing technicians. In addition, you will be working closely with other frontline supervisors to manage the daily workload, resources, and quality efforts (record review, final QC inspections, etc.).

  • High school diploma or equivalent with minimum 4 years of tissue bank experience in the production of allografts.
  • CTBS certification required.
  • Demonstrated ability to stand for approximately ninety percent of the work time.
  • Demonstrate effective communication, mentoring, and leadership skills.
  • Work requires the interpersonal ability to interact with staff, fellow supervisors and management.
  • Work requires the manual dexterity and visual acuity necessary to prepare tissue for clinical use.
  • Work requires the ability to train and supervise technical staff as it relates to policies outlined in the Standards and Procedures Manual.
  • Demonstrated physical ability to lift, carry and/or move equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds.
  • Work requires the mental ability to oversee the documentation requirements necessary to conform to the standards of the Procedure Manual, AATB Standards, OSHA Requirements, and all other relative agencies.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment with the capability to prioritize multiple, competing priorities and manage time/workload.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Processing Operations Managers in running the cleanrooms, functioning as a hands-on working supervisor.
  • Provide leadership to processing technicians and production teams to ensure production plan is followed and policies/procedures are adhered to.
  • Perform all functions of a Processing technician as needed.
  • Monitor environmental conditions to ensure cleanliness and a controlled environment for assigned cleanrooms.
  • Educate, instruct, and improve safety measures for all Processing staff.
  • Provide effective technical training and a career development path for assigned team members.
  • Perform accurate and timely documentation reviews.
  • Accurately perform final product verifications and inspections to drive quality improvements.
  • Set goals, training initiatives, and perform performance evaluations for direct reports and assist in evaluation of other technicians.
  • Help monitor and drive departmental and divisional goals and metrics.
  • Assist in creating, reviewing, and revising standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in departmental and divisional management activities as required.
  • Ensure departmental compliance within Quality System.
  • Participate in research activities, product development, and process improvement projects as directed.
