About The Position

The supervisor – Police Fusion Center Intelligence Administration (Non-Sworn) performs management and oversight activities for daily operations within the Dallas Police Department Fusion Center Real Time Crime Center, focusing on strategic and tactical intelligence analysis, and reporting directly to the Director of the Fusion Center. The supervisor oversees a team of analysts and sworn police officers. This position supervises Dallas Fusion Center and Real Time Crime Center officers, detectives, and analysts as they conduct real-time research on persons, locations, and property in support of investigations of criminal, terrorist, and other activities that threaten public safety and our officers. The supervisor’s primary responsibilities is to use analytical knowledge to guide the development, peer review, and production of various analytical products. Provides direction and guidance in establishing program goals, objectives, program guidelines, policies, and procedures. Develops schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals and supervising the work of others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Business Management, Public Administration, Political Science, Emergency Management, Homeland Security, or a related field preferred.
  • Five (5) years of full-time experience working as a Senior Criminal Intelligence Analyst or Criminal Intelligence Analyst Advanced working for a local, state, or federal law enforcement agency.
  • Two (2) years of previous supervisory experience required.

  • Master’s degree or higher in a specified field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in collecting and analyzing information concerning ongoing criminal activity.
  • Directs, establishes, and implements goals and objectives consistent with the unit’s strategic goals.
  • Develops and implements techniques for evaluating program activities and identifies the need to revise program goals and makes recommendations to improve operations.
  • Directs the collection, compiling, and analysis of data; prepares, reviews, and presents intelligence and assessment reports.
  • Partners with agency staff to identify crime trends and serves as a liaison with agency investigative bureaus and outside agencies.
  • Provides technical assistance and training regarding internal operations, information, and intelligence.
  • Attends intelligence, investigative, and law enforcement information-sharing meetings.
  • Present testimony at preliminary hearings, grand jury proceedings, and trials when required.
  • Assigns, delegates, and supervises the work of others, identifies problems, and implements solutions.
  • Performs other work as needed or assigned by the department Director.
